If you haven't heard the buzz surrounding the upcoming movie Big Miracle, check out my previous post here. Coming out February 3rd to theaters nationwide, Big Miracle is sure to make a big splash! We attended the advanced screening today and it was thumbs up across the board.
My kids both enjoyed watching it and even my little ones interest was held almost the entire movie, even though I had been concerned that he may be a little young for it. When we got home, my older child asked to talk about the whales over and over again. She seemed fascinated by their story and this only doubled when I told her it was inspired by a true story. We all fell in love with those whales and were on the edge of our seats during the spirited rescue mission that everyone participated in to try and get the family to safety.
Big Miracle is a great family movie and is probably most suited for kids that are ready to watch non-animated films. I won't give away the whole story line here in case you are planning on going to see it. My tip: stay until the end. They show actual footage of the people involved in the whale rescue and you'll be happily surprised to see two of the characters wedding footage included!
