Holiday Lights at Shady Brook Farm!

Nothing is more enchanting to a young child the days before and following Christmas than looking at all the beautifully decorated houses with wreaths, lights, and the occasional blow-up Winnie the Pooh inflatable.  This holiday season, my family went to Shady Brook Farm's Holiday Light show in Yardley, Pennsylvania.

The Grinch
The light show at Shady Brook Farms is so long that you drive through it with your car as opposed to walking. This was a nice plus for me- no chasing the kids around.  I could just sit back and relax and tune the radio to some Christmas music.  The light show included everything from the Grinch who stole Christmas, a Manger scene, a large castle you could drive through, and a scene from "The Little Mermaid."  My daughter absolutely loves Disney so that was her favorite.  We made sure to take our time driving through so we could enjoy every scene!

After driving through the show, I went into the market at Shady Brook and bought a bag of marshmallows and two very long wooden sticks.  ($2 for small bag of marshmallows, 50 cents per stick).  Other snack items as well as produce were also available for purchase.  They had two fire pits blazing outside and we had fun roasting marshmallows before we got back in the car to drive home.  There are also two jungle gyms with slides and a wooden playhouse in the same area, so the kids got a chance to burn some energy.

If you are interested in visiting Shady Brook Farms in Yardley and would like more information you can visit their website here.  Admission is $25 per car load on Fridays and Saturdays and $20 from Sunday - Thursday.  There is also a coupon for $5 off admission with a donation of canned goods or gently used shoes, making the cost out-of-pocket $15.

Wishing you and yours a very merry holiday!

  1. What a great show! Maybe next year my toddlers will sit in the car long enough for us to make the trek there and see the show - they love looking at the holiday lights!
